From June 15 to September 24, Le Bal presents the work of the Belgian photographer Harry Gruyaert through a wide selection of vintage Cibachrome prints, drawing an unprecedented path in the work of this leading figure of contemporary photography.

Gruyaert is best known for his innovative use of color throughout the 1970s and 80s, breaking away from the prevailing black-and-white tradition of the time. His work has had a significant impact on the field of color photography, elevating it to an art form and inspiring countless photographers worldwide. Throughout his career, Gruyaert’s photographs have explored diverse themes and subjects, encompassing landscapes, urban environments, and street scenes. His ability to find beauty in the every day, coupled with a remarkable talent for spotting harmonious color compositions, has set him apart as a true master of his craft.
