Description

Magnum Photos is excited to present its latest Professional Practice workshop taking place November 5–7, 2023 in Paris, France.

Join Carolyn Drake, Peter van Agtmael and William Keo alongside leading industry professionals for a 3-day event taking place days before Paris Photo.

Magnum’s Professional Practice workshops focus on demystifying the business of the industry, facilitating the creation of a professional network of industry contacts, understanding the requirements of the market and identifying realistic routes into photographic employment.

During these 3 days, you will show your work to Magnum photographers and industry professionals, listen to presentations of their work, engage in discussions with them and your peers.

The Magnum Café will give the possibility to participants to discuss in smaller groups with Magnum staff about practical topics such as how to negotiate a photoshoot (from contract to fees to delivering images), how to organize your archive, and much more.

“The portfolio reviews were just incredible. The enthusiasm for my project from the reviewers was amazing and it gave me a real boost in confidence in my work. I really feel like I’ve been creatively reinvigorated by the experience, particularly as this is really my first project.” – workshop participant, Professional Practice workshop, London, June 2023
